We present the long awaited part documentary, mostly concert movie that captures Franklin's performance at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles' Watts neighbourhood in January 1972.
 
Experience Aretha at the peak of her powers.
 
When and where: Thursday 22 August at 6pm, Penthouse Cinema, Ohiro Road, Brooklyn Wellington.
Be there on time as we will open the show with a couple of favourite gospel numbers.

This grand weekend features choirs from around the Wellington region, including Kāpiti Gospel Choir, Kāpiti Community Choir, WOSOSI, and Gale Force Gospel Choir.
 
Come as a choir member or as an individual singer - all welcome. There is a full programme from Friday 7pm to Sunday 3pm at only $45 per person.  
 
 
 
 
 
Choirs will get a chance to perform to each other, and to sing some massed numbers together. 
  • Accommodation available at the racecourse for Friday and Saturday nights
  • All the singing is in a large function room at the same venue
  • Live band and ceilidh on Saturday night
